INDIAN RAILWAYS announced dates for RRB NTPC and other posts


RRB(Railway Recruitment Board) will conduct online exam for NTPC, Ministerial Categories post and Group D from 15 December 2020 onwards. Finally the wait for almost 2.4 crore students is over as Chairman of Railway board has announded the dates for these exams through Video conferencing. The detailed schedule will be announced very soon. Railway Minister Mr. Piyush Goyal confirm the same on his twitter handle.


Indian Railways had notified 3 types of vacancies. These were 35208 for NTPC (non technical popular categories like guards, office clerks, commercial clerks etc), 1663 for Isolated & Ministerial categories (Steno & Teaches etc) and 103769 for Level 1 vacancies (track maintainers, pointsman etc). In all RRBs had notified a total of 1.40 lakh such vacancies for NTPC categories, Level-1 Posts and isolated and miscellaneous categories.

PET(Physical Efficiency Test)

Based on the performance in CBT , candidate will be called 3 times the total number of vacancies in thier respective RRB/RRC
The criterion for PET are as follows-
Male candidate: Should be able to lift and carry 35 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down ; and Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance.
Female Candidate: Should be able to lift and carry 20 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down; and Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance.


Syllabus

a. Mathematics: Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc. 

b. General Intelligence and reasoning Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical Reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc. 

c. General Science The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th standard level (CBSE). 

d. General Awareness on current affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and any other subject of importance.

IBPS CRP Clerk X(Vacancy and details)

IBPS(Institute of Banking Personal Selection) has issued a notification for upcoming clerical exams 2020 . It is two tier process consisting of preliminary and mains examination. There will be no interview for this post. IBPS clerk recruitment is done on the basis of applied state or UT by candidate while filling up the application form.

CET(COMMON ELIGIBILITY TEST) and NRA details

Union ministry has given its consent for creation of National Recruitment Agency(NRA) to conduct preliminary hiring process as Common eligibility test for the candidates under the vision "Ek desh,Ek pariksha". CET will replace I stage exam of various agencies such as SSC(Staff Selection Commission), RRB(Railway Recruitment Board), IBPS(Institute of banking personnel selection) for the recruitment of non gazetted posts(Group B & C).
Approximately 2.5 crore aspirants appear in  single/multiple examinations conducted by different recruiting agencies to fulfill 1.2 lakh recruitments advertised every year. Now all the candidates will be appearing for a single test Common Eligibility Test. Currently there are over 20 recruiting agencies currently under the central government.

NRA
A multi-agency body called the National Recruitment Agency (NRA) will  be set up to conduct a Common Eligibility Test (CET) for screening/shortlisting candidates of the Group B and C (non-technical) posts. NRA will have representatives of Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Finance/Department of Financial Services, the SSC, RRB & IBPS.
Exams to be conducted by NRA
The main aim of NRA is to conduct preliminary exams of SSC, RRB , IBPS.
This implies that candidate will have to appear for single preliminary exam for SSC CGL, CHSL, CPO, IBPS CLERK ,RRB NTPC etc.

CET Exam pattern & details
• A standard curriculum will be followed.  This means that it will relieve the burden on students for multiple curriculum of multiple exams.
•Exams will be conducted in multiple languages.
•CET score will be basis for screening of candidates . And selection will be based on tier 2/tier 3 exam of various recruitment agencies.
•CET score will be valid for 3 years. 
•It will conducted twice an year. And best score will be taken into consideration for selection.
•There will be common portal to apply for various exams.
•Candidates can schedule tests and choose the exam centre of their choice
• CET will he conducted in every district so that atleast one test centre to be there in a district.
• No restriction on number of attempts.
 
The Government has sanctioned a sum of Rs. 1517.57 crore for the National Recruitment Agency (NRA). The expenditure will be undertaken over a period of three years. Apart from setting up the NRA, costs will be incurred for setting up examination infrastructure in the 117 Aspirational Districts.

As per the ministry, the CET will save time and efforts of the students planning to be appointed in Group B and Group C posts. It will also save the money spent by candidates in filling up 'n' number of posts.

There might be ambiguity among the students regarding pattern of exam but overall it might save time and money of the agencies that conduct preliminary exams.
